FC Midtjyllan match preview
By: j | August 27th, 2008After a dismal 1-0 loss in the opening leg at Eastlands, the high-flying Man City squad heads to Denmark for the crucial second leg of UEFA Cup qualifying. With Jô back from the Olympics, he will feature heavily in the attack. With the early season success of Elano, Mark Hughes is said to be considering pairing the Brazilian duo up-front with the Mr. Martin Petrov (you know the drill by now, genius, pure genius) orchestrating the attack in his typical brilliant ways.
Man City will be without Kelvin Etuhu and (likely) Micah Richards to injuries. There has been so discussion that Micah Richards, who has been practicing, will play. While many readers are likely getting annoyed with my medical commentaries, this is madness and just another example of how this club needs to employ a competent medical staff that recalls the Hippocratic Oath. It doesn’t take a neurologist although one would surely substantiate that he shouldn’t be considered for a match or even practice certainly within the next ten days, if not longer. That point aside Vincent Kompany is ineligible for the match but Richard Dunne is back from the sin-bin.
I will provide a match review once it concludes.
