John Terry for Chelsea
By: Thad | July 22nd, 2009The Guardian is reporting in Thursday’s editions that John Terry is set to make a public announcement that he will stay with Chelsea, presumably on improved terms.
That looks to be that, and now the world can go on as usual; from City’s perspective, as discussed Tuesday, there is no reason to take this news as a disaster. Signing Terry would have been a coup of sorts but this was not a deal that was essential for City’s prospects of breaking up the Sky Four. City will have to look elsewhere for reinforcements in central defense; now the focus will turn to Joleon Lescott.

Could do worse than Lescott and maybe even Hangeland.

I hope this is true, Terry is not that good, Carvalho is better. I always felt the move was more political than anything.

City should buy Hangeland and Lescott. Seems they are going for Toure. If they buy Toure buy Hangeland to partner him. As Everton want around 20-30 million pounds for Lescott according to their chairman. They have also, bene linked with Roma defender Philipe Mexes. Who, is also, good. Nice to see City being linked with defenders and not attackers as their defence was horrid last season. I guess they will be playing 3 up front next season. A similar formation to Barcelona : 4-3-3

They better get Hangeland and Lescott…and maybe Maicon…they have to shore up the defense and they need another winger…
