Lucas Neill rumours

Further to some comments that my good friend Musab of the Galatasaray blog brought-up, I thought I should to mention the rumours of Mark Hughes trying to lure West Ham captain Lucas Neill over with a £1.6m bid on his services. Let me first state this has not been substantiated and may have little to do with fact. However just to make sure you’re involved in all the juicy (or then again, not so juicy) gossip, I’d thought it best to fill you in. Hey, I’d figured if you’re going to gossip about frivolous transfer rumours, you might want to join-in.
The aggressive thirty-year-old Center-Back who hails from Australia, earns in the £55-60k range per week and is apparently on the chopping block in cost-cutting measure. Whilst we’ve heard a great deal about about a surplus of funds available in the transfer hunt, this doesn’t seem to add up given other players who are available and the rather heavy price-tag the Lucas Neill comes with. Coincidently in addition to Man City, Galatasaray, who just added fellow ‘Roo Harry Kewell is also noted to be interested in his services.
So what is your opinion with this? Do you think we should be looking to add him or would you rather see an offer for some of the players I noted previously or
