Martin Petrov out “a significant time”

By: j | October 17th, 2008

It was revealed today that Martin Petrov will be out “a significant time” after injuring his knee playing for Bulgaria’s in a World Cup qualifier against Georgia on Wednesday. The club has not released the nature of the actual injury other that Mark Hughes comments:

“Martin is going to see a couple more specialists. He has ligament damage, we’re hopeful the news will be positive, but at this time the initial scans don’t look very good so there is real concern he could be out for a significant time.”

I will relay additional information if and when the club makes it available.
