Silvio Berlusconi hints of Kaká’s departure
By: j | January 17th, 2009As per the FIFA web-site, Italy’s Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi and owner of AC Milan hinted of the imminent move of Kaká to Manchester City:
“Nothing is decided yet but it is very difficult to ask someone to stay and respect his contract when he has been offered such a huge amount of money.
“You have to act in a moral way, like a big brother, as I did with Sheva (Andrei Shevchenko). I didn’t know how to say no to him when the offer came in from Chelsea.
“We can’t possibly increase the salaries for everyone as we would have to do to keep hold of Kaka,” he said.
“I’ve already said it and (vice-president) Adriano Galliani believes it too but my reasoning is clear: you can’t say no to a lad who has a short career and who has the potential to earn much more than he is currently being paid. On the other hand we can’t raise his salary because it’s already very high and we would have to raise the salary of all the other players as well”, although he equally added “I hope he stays.”

poor AC fans. I can’t wait to see your faces when Kaka kisses the crest and dances with Robinho.

This just means that the Milan club itself is considering taking the money. It is up to Kaka and his final decision to take the money from Manchester City and sign the contract to play for them, which he wont do. Kaka knows not to sell out on football. Here we go with another English team trying to ruin the beautiful game!!

you must be kidding, he will take the money as fast as he can and wont look back. Like his Dad he is just holding out for more cash and when he does, he will prove he can be bought.

Money will win this one unfortunately and it will revolutionize this game and the trades involved. Who says the Financial Crisis is ON?

Tell me, what makes you even want to be heard as a city fan? You lack that much class that you’re resorting to ridiculous insults aimed at one of the most successful clubs in the world. I wanna hear it, what has city ever won? We may be shit but we’re sitting third in serie a, where’s city in the EPL? Now i know you don’t sound that smart kid, but see if you can do this for me: Just answer my questions without trying to sound big and tough sitting behind your computer, throwing around your utterly hurtful remarks (you hate us? please like us, im begging you, we all care about what some American thinks of us)

Thank you all for joining in the comments and I appreciate each of your opinions. While I believe this is purely a business decision for all parties, I recognize the emotional aspect for many fans and understand the difficulty of the situation. I personally do not like how the business aspect of the game has evolved but my time-line is a lot longer than many and the changes over the last thirty plus years is mind numbing.
However, I just want to ask you to please not post anything objectional or it will be edited out or deleted completely. Naturally I want you to express your opinion in this super-charged issue but please follow these guidelines as I want everyone to enjoy posting here.

antonio- i hate city but i like this blog cause the news normally comes through first here. i’m a united fan, i find city annoying, i find their fans annoying…but again get over yourself and your club…milan is not the only club in the world and you’re obviously feeling threatened by some other club being able to splash ridiculous cash much like your club does. not 100 million of course but theyre sitting at the same table as you are, cash wise. why are you so threatened by that? because your club is run by 2 bald dopes that think bringing in an aging, slow, one trick pony superstar is a way to keep their name in the paper even though their on pitch product sucks? i’d venture a guess it’s rooted somewhere along those lines. so keep up your melodramatics under the guise of “passion for your club”…one that’s quick becoming a dimwitted giant in the world of big boy football where you need not only cash but people that know how to use it.

and again, city’s not going down this year. they’re just not. maybe you should worry about not soiling yourselves against werder bremen in the rinkydink cup….im sure one of those geriatrics in your squad will knock in a bs goal in the 85th minute before having to have their hip replaced.

Well done son, good argument. You couldn’t follow one simple instruction but i wasn’t really expecting you to be able to anyway. I’d love to know why it is that i have to “get over myself”, i reacted to one comment with another, nothing too melodramatic, just saying that i believe they’ll get relegated. Did i say ‘F— off City, keep your hands off our boy’? Or ‘Ricky will die in a Milan top’? I don’t how im feeling threatened either, if he goes, he goes and i’ll keep supporting my team. Btw, i cant stand how my team is being run at the moment, much like all the other Milanista’s, but lets try and look past the old jokes, they’re um, old, sorry. And the UEFA cup one’s too. And i wont get started on the yank ones
