Vincent Kompany to City!

By: j | August 21st, 2008

Martin Jol’s Hamburger SV have announced that terms have been reached to send twenty-two year-old central defender Vincent Kompany to City. No terms have been announced although it is rumored to be in the £6m range.

I will update with additional details once Man City confirms.

If he’s as good as Football Manager suggests, you got a bargin.

He has the talent as Football Manager suggests, but his nickname is “the glass man”. So lets say he has some injury history…

Let’s hope Mark Hughes can get him to stop his tantrums. 2 managers at Hamburg weren’t able to. . .

He got in disgrace with Martin Jol after he refused to return to Hamburg from the olympic Games in Beijing where the Belgian team needed him. In the end he played 40min against Bayern while he was being booed by his own crowd. I think a player who puts the interest of his country above all, deserves respect. He is one of the most mature young talents around these days, and he surely is worthy of a great club.

Potentially one of the best defensive players at Hamburg — from afar very difficult to comprehend why they gave him away. Very fine, physical player for the Premiere League.
