Wigan match preview
By: j | September 25th, 2008After a bombastic 6-0 romp over Portsmouth, the band-wagon around City is overflowing and fans by the drove are snapping up City shirts and City/Brazil hybrid scarves. While I hate to, well not really, disturb the party but the hallmark of a good team is winning the matches they are supposed to and a level of consistency that matches such as the Brighton loss exposed. City has shown the firepower and now it must establish a level of consistency as they visit Wigan.

This will be an interesting test for City’s attacking forces as Steve Bruce will come out with a sound defensive plan and look to lock up the midfield. They have shown a good ability to defend, minimize quality sight lines to attacking forces and completely frustrated Tottenham’s efforts. In the attack a trio of internally capped players, Jason Koumas (Wales), Amr Zaki (Egypt) and Emile Heskey (England) can create a multitude of problems and cannot be overlooked. Man City will have a full force back and generally fit, althoug Mr. Martin Petrov and Nedum Onuoha are both still listed as questionable and match-time decisions.
I will report on the match on Monday morning. I apologize for the delay but I am off to my own matches and will likely be unable to properly review and post till then. I thank you for your patience in this.
